Our Allicross AZC-UR has been developed specifically for applications where improved reactivity is asked for. This is achieved by reducing the molecular weight in combination with a lower concentration of stabiliser.
Coatings are found in a variety of applications like inks, paints, varnishes, polishes among other things and are used to enhance the substrate properties or to bind particles. Typical characteristics that can be achieved are for example hardness, gloss, scratch- rub or abrasion resistance or hydrophobicity.
The properties of coating binders can be further improved by crosslinking the functional groups.
Zirconium (Zr) allows for crosslinking between free Carboxylic (-COOH) and Hydroxylic (-OH) groups which results in improved durability and better binding properties. Binders will also become more hydrophobic and chemically resistant because the number of free functional groups gets decreased.
